Lord Qu Visual Identity

Lord Qu

Lord Qu is a visual identity created for a snack brand in Quzhou, China. The identity presents traditional Chinese food culture in a modern way for younger consumers. A character based on Confucius forms the central symbol, and the hair knot of the character is shaped like a steamed bun. Linear cartoon drawings connect the character with historical motifs such as the flying dragon, the Confucius Temple and auspicious clouds. A pig nose symbol is applied to steamers, tableware, lamps and seat backs in the restaurant space.

Lord Qu Visual Identity by Siyu Xu was selected as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Lord Qu Visual Identity won the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2020. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which rewards superior design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
