Riverside Pearl
Waterfront Pearl is a waterfront park located along the Jialing River in Nanchong, China. The park covers about 1,200,000 square meters and includes both landscape design and architecture design. The existing water and dam topography of the site is used to form a shoal shape to the west of Bashan Mountain. The terrain is reshaped and planted to strengthen the natural setting. The layout refers to the local Yuji culture and to the story of Da Yu controlling the floods. The result is a public space for leisure, cultural display and festival events.
Riverside Pearl Waterfront Park by Yun Du has been identified as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Riverside Pearl Waterfront Park was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Urban Planning and Urban Design in 2020. The A' City Planning and Urban Design Award is a highly prestigious international design award which rewards excellent design of masterplans, zoning proposals, infrastructure designs, landscape blueprints, public space concepts, urban renewal projects, transit oriented developments, sustainable city designs and more.
