Cecilia
Cecilia is an armchair made from reused and discarded materials. The structure is built from pressed slats of leftover wood, shaped with wide feet and a broad seat so that short offcuts can be used. The backrest is formed by small pieces of leftover fabric tied to a flexible base with foam inside, creating a soft volume and added comfort. The seat is made of discarded leather, which can receive patches and details, so each armchair is unique. The low and reclining form invites rest and follows a Scandinavian style.
Cecilia Armchair by Linda Martins has been recognized as an exceptional representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Cecilia Armchair won the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which celebrates outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
