Cut and Paste
This project toolkit, Cut and Paste: Preventing Visual Plagiarism, addresses a topic that can affect everyone in the design industry and yet visual plagiarism is a topic that is seldom discussed. This could be due to the ambiguity between taking reference from an image and copying from it. Therefore, what this project proposes is to bring awareness to the grey areas surrounding visual plagiarism and position this at the forefront of conversations around creativity.
Cut and Paste Branding by Lisa Winstanley was identified as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Cut and Paste Branding won the Golden A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2021. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition which celebrates outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
