Delightful Stay
Delightful is a guesthouse interior located at a traffic junction within a community in Taiwan. The building is an old house of almost half a century, affected by sinking floors and unsafe pipes and wires, so the renovation started with structural and foundation work. The wall was lowered and French windows were added to keep the lobby and the garden open, and a slope was placed at the entrance for seniors. Each guestroom has its own living room, bathroom and bedroom. The semi-open garden invites neighbors to rest and meet others.
Delightful Stay Homestay by Fang Ming Lo was identified as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Delightful Stay Homestay was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
