New Century Magic
New Century Magic is a hotel interior design for families in Zhejiang, China. The project covers 9000 square meters and was completed in June 2019. The lobby and corridors use bright colors and playful forms inspired by a tube game played by Chinese children. A tubular device with openings at different heights invites both adults and children to take part, and it also conceals cables. Children reach the upper floors through tree houses and slides, while adults use elevators. The guest rooms stay calm and simple, so the hotel also suits business travelers.
New Century Magic Hotel by Li Xiang was highlighted as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. New Century Magic Hotel earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
