Willow Shores
Willow Shores is a landscape design for a demonstration area in Suzhou, China, covering 5000 square meters. The main entrance uses a minimalist approach, with a large canopy and windows in the landscape wall that open the view, while the hall entrance stays hidden behind the wall. Inside, a winding corridor combines traditional half columns with simple decorative grids, hollowed metal curtains and green bamboo. A pool is set within a pond form of southern China. The whole space is divided into five levels to support a sense of returning home.
Willow Shores Demonstration Area by Hangzhou Gescape Design Co., Ltd was identified as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Willow Shores Demonstration Area received the Silver A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2021. The A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that recognizes excellent design of landscape designs, public parks, residential gardens, urban plazas, campus designs, green roofs, waterfront developments, Eco-Parks, botanical gardens and more.
