Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope is a restaurant interior design covering 200 square meters in Taipei, Taiwan. The facade concept is based on a kaleidoscope and presents irregular geometric figures in walnut veneer and laminate sheet with a concrete pattern. Eco-friendly plaster is applied to the walls and ceiling with a trowel finish to create irregular lines. Three fixed steel columns of the former metal house are concealed by arc forms that echo the facade. A hand-drawn painting of a warrior holding a wine bottle marks the main wall, and old southern pine lumber is kept.
Kaleidoscope Restaurant by HomeCheer Interior Design Company has been featured as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Kaleidoscope Restaurant received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
