Forge Loft
Forge Loft is a loft apartment created inside an old forge in Leszno, Poland. The forge is part of a 19th-century pump factory that is being converted into a living complex. The interior is based on contrast. Original brick walls, concrete floors and lintels are kept as raw witnesses of the past. New elements are neutral and elegant, forming a frame for the historical structure. Black surfaces, perforated steel, a steel railing and a spiral staircase set the background, while warm accessories and soft textiles soften the industrial character. The apartment covers 120 square metres.
Forge Loft Apartment by Jan Sikora was identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Forge Loft Apartment won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design award which rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
