Dragon
Dragon is a restaurant interior located inside a financial technology office building in Beijing. The design covers 2500 square meters and seeks a calm atmosphere based on natural elements. A main challenge was that 80 percent of the dining space lies underground and receives no natural light. Nature is therefore simulated. A waterfall and a pool are formed in cast concrete with digital technology, and copper ducklings appear to swim on the surface. Private dining rooms recall the shape of a valley, with plants and seasons, and simulated light supports these enclosed areas.
Dragon Restaurant by Zhenhua Luo has been selected as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dragon Restaurant won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
