Hachiko
Hachico is a bar interior located in Moscow, Russia. The design is inspired by the izakaya bars of Tokyo, found near the Hachiko Monument at Shibuya Station. Within 65 square meters, the space offers 35 seats and an open kitchen with a robata grill at its center. One wall is covered with ceramic roof tiles, and the floor is finished with terracotta cement tiles. Plywood, natural stone, wood and cork are used for the surfaces, while the furniture is upholstered in velvet. Daylight fills the main hall, and the evening lighting creates a warm and quiet mood.
Hachiko Bar by Valery Lizunov has been highlighted as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Hachiko Bar was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
