Grille
Grille is a modular bookcase inspired by the form of the traditional Chinese grille. The bookcase is made of pine wood and measures 124 cm in length, 32 cm in width and 186 cm in height. A white frame holds small wooden boxes, four in each row and six in each column. Each small box can be placed in four different directions, and one part of the box is rotated by 45 degrees. Users assemble the boxes themselves, so many different patterns can be created. The bookcase provides storage that can be arranged by personal preference.
Grille Bookcase by Bruce Tao has been selected as an innovative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Grille Bookcase won the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which honors exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
