Spring Breeze
Spring Breeze is an office space in Kunming, Yunnan, China. The project is the renovation of a single-family steel-structured building with an indoor area of 1000 square meters. A wooden hanging house was built inside the original structure with traditional techniques, using tenon and mortise joints without nails. Two rows of columns and beams support the suspended rooms and corridors. A double-wall design controls the sunlight entering the work area through the glass facade. The wooden house forms a visual contrast with the steel building.
Spring Breeze Office Space by Qingtao Ji was recognized as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Spring Breeze Office Space earned the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
