Yangfu
Yangfu is a private house designed for a family of four generations in Shaoxing, China. The house covers 3400 square meters and combines reception areas, a small private art gallery and living spaces for different ages. A corridor connects the whole house, so the reception and residential areas stay relatively independent. The garden was shaped with built hills, ponds, flowers and trees. Solid wood, copper bars, marble and decorative leather wall panels form the main surfaces, while hand-made wood carving, stone carving and metal forging add traditional detail.
Yangfu Private House by Wei Zhang has been highlighted as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Yangfu Private House received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
