The Growth Curve
The Growth Curve is a deformable garment designed to change shape and to offer several ways of wearing. Fishbone strips form the supporting frame and are sewn directly onto elastic fabric. The uneven force created by the crossing strips makes the fabric curl and form spiral and raised surfaces, giving the garment a light and breathable three-dimensional structure. The method allows complex forms to be made without splicing separate panels. Less fabric waste is produced during production, which supports energy saving in the clothing industry.
The Growth Curve Deformable Clothing by Haiwei Wang has been identified as an outstanding example of fashion design by the A' Design Awards.
