The Bridge House
The Bridge House is a private residence built on a steep slope facing a valley. Interconnected grid bridges link the house to different parts of the site, so no clear boundary is set between the building and nature. The design is inspired by the linear terraces of local architecture. The building is raised above the ground and given a porous form to address the high humidity of the area. The facade has operable sliding panels with louvers that control light and heat and also provide privacy. Reclaimed ceramic tiles, granite and glass are used in the interior.
The Bridge House private residential by Soheil Afshar Mohammadian has been identified as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. The Bridge House private residential earned the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that honors exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
