Zhuzhou Civic Center
Zhuzhou Civic Center is a public building that brings together convenience services, entrepreneurship services and leisure services for citizens. The building is divided into six modules arranged around a central green valley, and a walking path crosses the site to link the north and south parks. Passive energy-saving technology is used throughout, including insulation of floors, walls, doors and windows, a fresh air system, solar and geothermal energy, a green roof and sunshades. Energy consumption is about one sixth to one tenth of that of similar buildings.
Zhuzhou Civic Center Public Building by Wsp Architects has been identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Zhuzhou Civic Center Public Building received the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition that recognizes superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
