Path of Daylight
Path of Daylight is a hair salon interior located in Taichung City, Taiwan. Forest paths form the central concept of the design. Black hardware outlines abstract lines that suggest a cabin in the woods. White pebbles and green plants are placed along the hallway. Glass and mirrors reflect daylight and create changing light and shadow. The space is divided into a public area with a reservation counter and three private salon rooms, named urban gentlemen, socialites and modern metropolis. Cold tones and soft light pink tones are applied to the rooms.
Path of Daylight Hair Salon by Jao-Wen Shao has been identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Path of Daylight Hair Salon was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
