Across
Across is a poster created for a digital art festival dedicated to the rock art of the Helan Mountains in China. The poster is printed on lenticular material. One image shows the original Helan Mountain motif and the other shows a modern digital version of the same motif. As the viewing angle changes, the ancient motif fades and the digital motif appears. The traditional image was painted with a mixture of ink, tea, gelatine and gold powder, applied by splashing to create a texture similar to rock. Across aims to preserve and share an endangered ancient culture.
Across poster by Yilin Wang has been highlighted as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Across poster earned the Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which recognizes exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
