Jian Sushi
Jian Sushi is a Japanese restaurant interior completed in Taiwan in 2021. The 135 square meter space contains a dining area, a VIP room, an itamae counter, a pantry, a kitchen, a hand-washing area and a bathroom. Black and grey tones unify the interior, while architectural concrete, yakisugi boards and rusted ironware create a simple and calm character. Lighting is directed towards the artworks and the dishes. Sound-absorbing materials reduce echo. The design presents the owner's art collection together with the cuisine.
Jian Sushi Restaurant by Wu-Su Interior Design was recognized as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Jian Sushi Restaurant earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
