Moonshine
Moonshine is a cafe interior designed in the style of Brutalism, located in Taipei. The space measures 5 by 20 meters and covers 100 square meters. Ornamentation is removed so that the materials remain the focus. Raw concrete, hammered surfaces, patterns made with a cement spatula and rounded corners define the interior. The patterns on the bar facade were formed with precast molds and then attached to the furniture. Seating at different heights, a long communal bar top and a bench support interaction, while the layout opens views from the street to the bean roasting area.
Moonshine Commercial Space by Muuk Design Associates has been featured as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Moonshine Commercial Space received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
