Butai
Butai is a shelf designed for homes with small floor plans and limited storage space. The width of Butai can be adjusted freely. Assembly needs no metal fittings, because five shelf boards and fourteen T-shaped steel parts are simply stacked. The T-shaped parts can be placed in any number, position and angle, so each owner can form a personal pattern. Magnets hold photos and posters on the steel surfaces, and the surface can also serve as a magazine rack. Butai is open on all sides and can act as a partition without making a small room feel cramped.
Butai Shelf by Misaki Kiyuna has been recognized as a grand representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Butai Shelf won the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that honors outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
