Unajiro Visual Identity

Unajiro

Unajiro is a visual identity created for an eel restaurant brand. The identity includes a logo and a complete set of applied items, such as decorations, lanterns, chopstick bags and aprons. The logo combines the katakana and hiragana forms of the letter U, the word umai, which means delicious, and the first sound of the Japanese word for eel. The design follows a traditional Japanese craftsman style and expresses the concept of a delicious rice bowl. A recycling mark was added to the chopstick bag. The words for prosperous business on the front cover carry a wish for good trade.

Unajiro Visual Identity by KEISUKE AKARI has been identified as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Unajiro Visual Identity was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2023. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition which rewards exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
