Xishuang Linyu
Xishuang Linyu is a marketing center of 812 square meters located in Xishuangbanna, China. The interior combines contemporary art with the local culture of the Dai people. Screens shaped like the winding forms of the rainforest divide the space and guide the view. Curved tassel lamps, metal flower ornaments, round carpets, Dai pattern pillows and single chairs with mortise and tenon construction are used together. Motifs of coconut branches, white elephants and peacocks are drawn from local imagery. Tea culture and craft areas were added to open the layout and to honor local traditions.
Xishuang Linyu Marketing Center by Kelly Lin has been selected as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Xishuang Linyu Marketing Center received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade which celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
