Light and Shadow
Light and Shadow is a residential interior design for a home of 165.2 square meters in Taiwan. The home includes three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and three bathrooms. Ironwork and moru glass form semi-open partitions that filter natural light between the living and dining areas. An iron barrier also serves as storage. Walnut-colored wood covers the beams and columns, and a light gray ceiling holds hidden lighting. Wires and components are concealed, so lighting and appliances can be controlled by smartphone.
Light and Shadow Residence by Ke-HsuanYang was recognized as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Light and Shadow Residence won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
