Oil Street Art Space Wayfinding System

Oil Street Art Space

Oil Street Art Space is a wayfinding system created for a public art and cultural venue in Hong Kong. The site includes a historic red brick building and a newer two-storey building with outdoor areas for exhibitions and community activities. The form of the signage is derived from the venue logo and combines three surface areas. Black is used to suit the historic setting, with one area in the brand colour. The signs are made of stainless steel with powder coating and painted debossed letters, and are fixed between the bricks to limit damage to the building.

Oil Street Art Space Wayfinding System by Kimhung Choi was highlighted as an exceptional example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Oil Street Art Space Wayfinding System earned the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2023. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which rewards superior design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
