Book Ing
Book Ing is a bar interior completed in Taiwan. Entry is made through a hidden door set into a fully enclosed wall clad in cultural stone, which opens only when the correct object is pressed. Inside, a ten meter long black marble counter and a wooden alcohol wall cross the open plan space. Two concealed doors serve the storage of guest alcohol collections and meal preparation. A mirrored ceiling above the alcohol cabinet reduces the visual effect of the low beams. Sofas are staggered to form private booth like seating.
Book Ing Bar by Yang-Po Chen has been highlighted as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Book Ing Bar earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
