K11 Art Mall
K11 Art Mall is a retail interior design in Wuhan, China. The project converts a twenty-year-old department store into an art mall of four podium levels and a total area of 34,000 square meters. Verticality guides the retail planning, and vertical landmarks together with floor-specific landmarks encourage visitors to move upward and explore. An external bridge links the mall to an adjacent mall. A steel structure adds new layers inside the existing concrete building, while fiberglass reinforced gypsum and laminated glass shape the colorful spaces.
K11 Art Mall Retail by Carrie Ho was identified as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. K11 Art Mall Retail won the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
