Sandy Beach
Sandy Beach is the interior design of a beach villa in Qingdao, China. The home covers 450 square meters across two floors and a basement, and serves a family of four as a second residence for vacation and leisure. Functional areas are kept open rather than strictly divided, which creates a large and relaxed spatial scale. The main materials are wood flooring, slate and latex paint. Terrazzo brick in black with white particles is laid on the lower level. Large French windows bring daylight into the basement.
Sandy Beach Residential House by Yuan Yu was highlighted as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Sandy Beach Residential House received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
