Pearl River Wenjiang Block B Urban Architecture

Pearl River Wenjiang Block B

Pearl River Wenjiang Block B is an urban master plan for a mixed-use business district in Chengdu, China. The plan includes 14 high-rise office towers, 10 commercial pedestrian streets and street-front podiums of one to two floors. Diverse transport systems are combined to form a three-dimensional city. Open blocks, waterfront parks and art courtyards support a healthy and livable daily life. The high-rise facades use a window-wall system with aluminum frames and elevated planting, which provides shading without strong light reflection. The building area is 644,765 square meters.

Pearl River Wenjiang Block B Urban Architecture by Gao Shanxing was featured as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Pearl River Wenjiang Block B Urban Architecture was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Urban Planning and Urban Design in 2024. The A' City Planning and Urban Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition which honors exceptional design of masterplans, zoning proposals, infrastructure designs, landscape blueprints, public space concepts, urban renewal projects, transit oriented developments, sustainable city designs and more.
