Crystal
Crystal is a residential interior design for a five-story house of 640 square meters in Taiwan. The crystal chandelier sets the starting point, and its height guides the proportions of the sofa wall, curtains and windows. White surfaces form the base, and grey mirrors extend the visual scale. Upper and lower curtains replace full-length curtains, so the door beside the windows stays clear. Hidden doors and display cabinets conceal irregular corners formed by the central staircase. A basement multi-purpose room holds a bar counter and a vintage playing table.
Crystal Residence by Shu Ching Huang was identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Crystal Residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
