Spiritual Casa
Spiritual Casa is a residential interior design for a four-story house of 146 square meters in the countryside of Yilan, Taiwan. The design combines Chinese and Spanish traditions. Triangular wooden beams, Spanish tiles and a kitchen island recall Spanish country architecture. Screens, flowering crabapple motifs and antique coin patterns refer to Asian customs. Hand-woven rattan furniture is made by local artisans with mortise and tenon joints. Grey and milk-tea earth tones create a neutral background, and central islands and cabinets keep the circulation open.
Spiritual Casa Residence by Meng Chuan Ho was highlighted as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Spiritual Casa Residence received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
