Chinatown Rebranding Branding

Chinatown Rebranding

Chinatown Rebranding is a visual identity and poster project created for the Chinatown district of Los Angeles, California. The new visual system represents the cultural heritage of the neighborhood. Design elements connect the historical significance of the old Chinatown with the modernity and revitalization of the new plaza. The graphics show the fusion of Chinese and American cultures and highlight the local identity. Each poster measures 24 by 36 inches. The project was completed in 2023 and follows research on the integration of Asian and North American cultures.

Chinatown Rebranding Branding by Bo Zhang has been identified as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Chinatown Rebranding Branding earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2025. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program which rewards excellent design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
