Nomad House
This project reinterprets a 40 year old residence for contemporary nomadic living by removing existing layers to reveal latent spatial potential within the concrete structure. Originally fragmented across levels, the space is reorganized vertically into a continuous composition, with an open living area above, private spaces below, and an introspective basement. The basement supports both individual retreat and shared moments, creating a gradual transition between openness and intimacy, where memory emerges through everyday inhabitation.
Nomad House Residential by Ryoko Ogoshi has been identified as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Nomad House Residential received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade that recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
