Point Stool

Point

This stool focuses on visual tension through a minimalist triangular language. Three inverted legs meet at minimal contact points, achieving an elegant balance that seems to defy gravity. The subtle curvature of the legs adds organic softness to the geometry, while gaps between the seat and legs provide a refined lightness. Crafted from molded plywood, the design ensures structural strength within a slender profile. This piece functions as both a practical stool and a poetic sculpture, inviting curiosity through its quiet dissonance and beauty.

Point Stool by Yuina Nakada was identified as a grand representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Point Stool earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2026. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which honors superior design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
