Temporal Graft
Temporal Graft is a multifunctional ramp gallery that connects the Seoul City Wall with the alleyway neighborhoods beside it. The lightweight timber structure follows the steep terrain with a continuous accessible ramp, free of stairs. Wider terraced platforms serve as places to rest, gather and host public exhibitions. The permeable facade acts as a buffer between visitors and residents. Precision-milled engineered timber refers to traditional Korean building methods and lowers embodied carbon. The design treats heritage preservation and daily local life as compatible.
Temporal Graft Multifunctional Ramp Gallery by Jungjae Park has been recognized as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Temporal Graft Multifunctional Ramp Gallery received the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2026. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that celebrates excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
