Boku Restaurant and Bar

Boku

Boku is a restaurant and bar interior in Guadalajara, Mexico. The design combines Japanese spatial principles with local culture and is inspired by Osaka street food, with takoyaki as the central theme. A curved counter encourages social interaction, and wall textures add tactile detail. Suspended bamboo lighting and natural materials create an organic atmosphere. A mezzanine makes use of the high ceiling and adds functional variety. The venue serves food during the day and becomes a bar and event space at night.

Boku Restaurant and Bar by Takahiro Todoroki has been recognized as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Boku Restaurant and Bar won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
