SUIGETSU JAPANESE RESTAURANT

Suigetsu Japanese Restaurant is a dining interior of 370 square metres in Chongqing, China. The design combines Chongqing and Japanese cultural references. Floor levels change in height to recall the local landscape. The plan follows the meeting paths of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers and also refers to Feng Shui principles. The ceiling is shaped like a folded fan, with an aluminium alloy frame and wood textured surfaces. Acrylic light boxes on the glass facade recall paper lanterns and glow at night.

SUIGETSU JAPANESE RESTAURANT JAPANESE RESTAURANT by Tomohiro Katsuki has been identified as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. SUIGETSU JAPANESE RESTAURANT JAPANESE RESTAURANT was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2017. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
