QWERTY
QWERTY is a sofa bed shaped like a computer keyboard. Each key forms a soft cushion that supports the user while working at the office or at home. Micro electric motors, controlled by a remote unit, adjust every key cushion separately, so the whole surface can be reshaped. The remote offers ten preset settings, and further settings can be added. QWERTY can be used as a sofa, as a bed or as a fully customized support. The design turns a familiar everyday image into flexible furniture with a light touch of irony.
QWERTY Sofa by Andrea Cingoli was selected as an innovative example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. QWERTY Sofa won the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2018. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
