Goethestrasse 1
Goethestrasse 1 is a private house in Bad Homburg, Germany. The design transforms a strict development plan into a calm architectural form shaped by its location. The building develops its own scale in relation to the landscape and the surrounding buildings. Generous relations between inside and outside are created on a small plot with valuable trees. Light, shade and the reflections of the water surface in front of the glazed facades shape the interior atmosphere. Concrete, steel supports and prefabricated wooden elements form the structure.
Goethestrasse 1 Private House by Gronych + Dollega Architekten was highlighted as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Goethestrasse 1 Private House earned the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2019. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that recognizes exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
