Iris
Iris is a small table lamp that provides indirect lighting. The lighting system allows control of the light intensity and regulation of the light beam directed upwards. A diaphragm mechanism lets the user adjust the upper beam by hand. A simple form was chosen so that the diaphragm remains the main feature. The metal parts are made of carbon steel and stainless steel, shaped by laser cutting and turning. The dome is made of ABS plastic by three-dimensional printing and can be undocked to change the bulb.
Iris Lamp by Max Kampa was identified as an innovative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Iris Lamp earned the Silver A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2020. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which rewards superior design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
