Return to the Mountain Woods
Return to the Mountain Woods is a residential interior design for an apartment of 350 square meters in Taichung. The home is planned as both a club and a residence, connected as one continuous space for gatherings with family and friends. The living room, the dining room and the central island bar counter form the reception area. The foyer uses dark wood and a marble screen that suggests flowing water. Marble, stone, veneer, titanium plating and steel panels are applied throughout. Earth colors give the private rooms a calm character.
Return to the Mountain Woods Apartment by Ying Kai Chu has been highlighted as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Return to the Mountain Woods Apartment received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award that honors outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
