Dbrood Bar

Dbrood

Dbrood is a bar located in downtown Shanghai, designed for young visitors under twenty-five years of age. The traditional entrance is replaced by an artistic installation shaped like a subway carriage. Guests pass through the carriage to reach the bar, so the arrival becomes part of the visit. The subway carriage is used as a symbol of freedom and of a return to a natural state. The design keeps the bar both connected to and separated from the outside world, as if the carriage were departing. The interior is intended to be playful and engaging.

Dbrood Bar by Kun Peng Lv was featured as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dbrood Bar was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
