Wonderland
Wonderland is an exhibition center interior in Shanghai, China. The design is inspired by Taoyuan Wonderland, a landscape painting by the Ming dynasty painter Qiu Ying, and applies green, pink and white tones to a quiet space. A gray slate wall first hides the view, and the main ten meter high hall is revealed along the path. The central passage leads to the conference area, the exhibition area and the tea room. Floor-standing bookshelves and geometric hollow screens divide the areas. A suspended glass installation of more than 5,000 peach petals was installed by hand.
Wonderland Exhibition by Ji Pan has been recognized as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Wonderland Exhibition was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
