Starry Town Public Space

Starry Town

Starry Town of Fuxian Lake is a visitor center and public space built on the bank of Fuxian Lake. The building is shaped like a white leaf resting quietly beside the water. Each leaf roof covers about 1200 square meters and provides the shading required by the local climate. Two flowing white walls of aluminum plates connect the spaces, together with a curved ribbon bridge that extends 145 meters. The canopy over the entrance is formed from triangular mirror-finished stainless steel panels. Wide glazing on the ground floor keeps the lake visible from the site.

Starry Town Public Space by MadeMake Architects has been recognized as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Starry Town Public Space won the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award that celebrates exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
