Pearl River Hotel

Pearl River

Pearl River is a Cantonese restaurant interior of 495 square meters, located within a hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The design avoids both the dim atmosphere and the excessively extravagant style often seen in traditional Cantonese dining rooms. Spatial borders divide the plan into zones, and each zone holds seating of a different style to suit various customer groups. A large glass wall brings natural light onto the circular seats and frames the greenery outside. Marble and carved wood lines add depth. A tea area serves guests who wish only to drink tea.

Pearl River Hotel by Cheung Chiu Hung has been identified as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Pearl River Hotel earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
