Pure Chair

Pure

Pure is a wooden chair inspired by the Ming style ring chair. The form follows the gentle curve of the traditional chair ring and goose neck, and the lines are concise and clear. The curved seat is shaped for comfort and support. The frame is joined with a traditional tenon and mortise structure, which is stable, solid, easy to process and suitable for mass production. Beech and North American walnut are used. The chair measures 597 by 484 by 760 millimetres and weighs 4.8 kilograms. The design removes extra lines to return to a simple and natural state.

Pure Chair by Xin Chen has been identified as an innovative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Pure Chair received the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which celebrates outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
