Unlike any other type of museum, a film museum connects to people’s personal lives and memories. COORDINATION ASIA created an experience for the Shanghai Film Museum that is driven by interaction and dialogue, and that allows visitors to be an active participant in the story of Shanghai film. Over 15,000 sqm the museum shares the story of Shanghai filmmaking, from its magical beginning in 1886 to present day’s 3D blockbusters.
Continue readingPicglaze prints photos, but finishes them with something out of the ordinary. They print on versatile and different materials, with the rigidity of the formats as a main element. The challenge of the design for Estudio Maba was to make the most of these qualities relevant on the result. Since the materials are rigid they can be sustained and form a composition. As such a sculpture with different colors and thicknesses. A product sample book that becomes a piece itself. A decorative object, further than a catalogue, this piece is volumetric design nice to see, touch and feel.
Continue readingThe ideas of a tapas restaurant and a brewery bar were combined together, and became one synergistic restaurant. Both restaurants support each others' characteristics as a bar and a restaurant. Industrial elements and brewery system are exposed in the space, and the idea was elevated to the level of installation art by the designer. The beer tanks and elaborated piping are stored in the beautiful glass cases and brewing beers, and in addition to the system, imitation pipes and handles are added thought-out the space.

The architect attempts to make the commercial interior focus on nobility, humanity and urbanity with combination of contemporary design and local culture. Sculptural wooden structure gives the entire space much more modest and simplicity.
Continue readingPeople live with hardly any nature in urban environment, and face various pressures every day, so it is necessary for them to have a healing space at home to release mental and physical stress. There is a Zen word “San Sui Ni Sei On Ari”, which means in nature of mountain and river people can hear clear and pure sound. Under this design concept the design combines the urban elements and the nature elements into one space. Water falling down from celling and expending waves, making it possible to enjoy this space not only visually but also acoustically by hearing the sound.
Continue readingLock & Be Free has opened its first store in the center of Madrid. The challenge was to shape the brand concept, Leave your luggage, live the city, and rejuvenate the image of the old and cliche lockers. The universe of the brand and its interior design scheme combines highly topical colors and materials: white peg boards, yellow lockers flanked by a circular font, a typical airport rubber floor and a set of lights transmitting positive energy. The matte and glossy materials achieve the desired bulky look to an small space, only 30 m2.
