Longfang Bridge
Longfang Bridge is a nightscape lighting design for a road and pedestrian bridge in Wenzhou, China. The crossing combines one main bridge with two pedestrian bridges, built from concrete-filled steel tubes painted red. The pedestrian bridges use warm 2200K light to contrast with the red structure, while the main bridge uses 4000K light for traffic. Wall washers and flood lights are hidden inside the structure. Three lighting modes serve weekdays, weekends and festivals. A control system switches lights off at midnight or when daylight is sufficient.
Longfang Bridge Nightscape Lighting Design by Lighting Design Institute of Wenzhou Design Assembly Company Ltd was highlighted as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Longfang Bridge Nightscape Lighting Design won the Silver A' Design Award in Architectural Lighting in 2024. The A' Architectural Lighting Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which honors outstanding design of architectural lighting, architectural illumination, architecture lighting projects, architectural light projections, landscape illumination, architectural light art and more.
