The Silk Road
The Great Silk Road is a womenswear collection inspired by the historic trade route that linked East and West. The collection consists of twenty garments, including hats. Each piece is made of natural fabrics and decorated by hand with natural silk ribbons. The headdresses are made entirely by hand from silk fabrics of different textures. The patterns repeat the wind on desert sands, the rice terraces of China and the lines of rock faults. Each item is presented as a postcard from a travel destination. The couture garments can be combined and worn in daily life.
The Silk Road Womenswear Collection by Alsu Biryukova has been selected as an exceptional representation of fashion design by the A' Design Awards. The Silk Road Womenswear Collection was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design in 2020. The A' Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that recognizes exceptional design of runway collections, dresses, suits, skirts, outerwear, jackets, apparel, garments and more.
